I just noticed that with today's results at SA, all of the exacta and trifecta payoffs in HTR are the $1.00 payoffs. Is it this way with all of the California tracks and are the gimmick payoffs in all of my old files based on $1.00 and I just never noticed it ? And are there other tracks that the gimmick payoffs are shown as the $1.00 payoffs in HTR ....and is so, what are the tracks?

thanks for any feedback.

That's right Buck, the reportage from track to track is not consistent. We have complained to Equibase and they blame the individual tracks for the inability to report all payoffs the same.

In CA exa, tri and p3, p4 are $1, but the DD and p6 are $2 prices.

Some tracks report exacta as $2, trifecta as $1. Others, everything is $2; etc etc etc

There is no set listing and they could change their reportage without notice. This would be a simple assignment for the NTRA, to persuade all tracks to report $2 prices on everything. They did a good job with the saddle cloth colors synchronize - why not mutuel payoffs?

Best bet for testing exotics is to do it by invidual track. If you know that all the tracks in the circuit report the same (CA, NYRA, but not Florida) then you can test them all together. All win place and show prices are $2 everywhere. The vast majority still report exacta as $2 except CA and few minor tracks, so you are pretty safe there. The trifecta is the wild card, it is about 60/40, $1 to $2 payoff reports. Don't run an ALL Burger on the exacta or trifecta though, the results will be misleading.

A good place to check is the http://www.equibase.com/index.cfm site. They list the type of payout on their results and charts.
