Quick question.....

Is the nLONG field in the HX4 export the same horses on the longshot screen in HTR2001? Was just wondering....want to flag those horses on my personal worksheet (the ones on the Longshot screen, but wanna make sure they are one in the same!)

They don't appear to match, tho!

Thanks for any help you may be able to give!

Donnie -
You win a complete unabridged printout of the other 999 threads!

The nLONG should be the same as the "$" designation, I just checked the code and they draw from the same exact array. If there is a problem, it would be in the Export module. Does it look like there are too many of the nLONGS in your HX4 files? It could be that it is not re-initializing the export variable and duplicating the nLONG = 1 when the next horse cycles in, even if that horse is not a "$".

I'll look into it, thanks.

Yeah Ken they don't seem to matching up...I am assuming as well that when scratches are considered and taken out the Longshot screen has the potential to change...correct?

Thanks for checking into it!

Later on tonight I will find some variances and post them...unless it's the drinking again!

Better send me some of that sauce Donnie, I can't see a problem. I just exported an ALL burger from the last week of races; then I randomly looked up those with the nLONG = 1 and found them all with "$" in the program. Then I randomly looked for "$" in the program and they all had nLONG = 1 when I looked at the export data in Excel. Thought I had found an error at TUP Feb1 when I spotted three consecutive nLONG = 1, but the program did list all 3 horses with a "$" when I looked it up.

Yes, scratches play a huge role in determining the "$", even scratching a horse without the "$" can add or subtract from the race dynamic enought to erase or even change the longshot designation to someone or even take it away from a horse that had it before the scratch.

If you find any clear discrepencies, let me know the track, date and race and I'll look further.

My my question was a little fuzzy.....

I cleared out my database completely and downloaded today's races and results from GP & SA. So scratches are already taken out. I imported the HX4 data into a new table then did a query to find the Tracks, Races, Horse's Name and a "1" for the nLONG. This is what my query returned:

oops...hopefully here it will show, note: 18 returns......

Now, using the same info inside of HTR2001, this is the way the Longshot/Tournament Plays screens returns:

I am now deducing that these two items are not a match.....? Correct? BTW the version of 2001 I am using is Jan 6 2003. Thanks for any insight!

Ken, I assume you are looking at the PRGM Screen...I am looking at the Longshot report from the bottom button!

Yup, I was looking at the $ in the program screen Donnie. Will check out that SPADE button on Friday - but could it be that you exported the data with one PL mode and ran the SPADE with another? That could give you different results with the longshots. Check the export for the PL-mode and then run the SPADE again with that same mode and see if they match - if not, there is a bug for sure.

You nailed it on the head there Ken! I wasn't even thinking about the paceline mode...I export Paceline 1 and have my default set to 5 in the program...sorry about the bother...they all match up now! I owe ya beer! :D
