For some reason, the number of racefiles I can load into the DOS version of HTR has dropped drastically. Has anyone else ever encountered this problem? Any suggestions as to what may have brought this problem on and what can be done to correct the problem?

Thanks

I know very little about this, but dos programs use a specific portion of RAM to load the program in. Have you added anything to your PC software or hardware that has to loaded in the Ram first that would reduce the avaiable memory for dos programs?

I did recently install a shareware program called Diskeepr Lite which supposedly does a better job of defragging than does the Windows version. I will remove it and see if that might be the problem. Thanks for the suggestion.

Try removing all the .txt files (trainer stats and charts) from C/HTR folder. Let me know if it works for you.

Glen, your suggestion apparently was exactly what I needed to do. I did as you suggested and I have been able to add many more racefiles. I didn't remove the other program I alluded to earlier.

(Where do you think December contract of the S & P futures wil close tomorrow, Glen???)

Many thanks.

Glad it worked for you. One day I cleaned out all my .txt files and I had all kinds of extra space to run htr files. Kinda of an accident. Regarding S&P futures? Not sure, I'm just stuggling to make it to the next meal. But if I was a betting man, odds are that it will be down. Our financial markets are brewing into a pile of chicken chit. Buy Pork Bellies!
