Just a short while ago, a lear jet crashed at Bluegrass airport. It slid across the street and came to rest at the wall going into Keenland.
4 people were taken to the hospital (hopefully no fatalities). There is a lot of small private plane traffic here leading into the Sep't sales.

Unfortunatelyof, one person died. Workers at Keeneland were some of firts on the scene and helped pull survivors out of the wreck. Traffic is still closed at Keeneland. I assume not too many people are able to get to the simulcast yesterday and today with only the back road open.

Tomcat.....thanks for the update. As an old, not so bold, pilot.....always disturbs me to hear of a fellow pilot doing an "oh sh*t". Will try to get the prelimanary accident report today and see what went wrong. As in handicapping one can always learn from others errors. At least in capping we get another chance to correct the error.

Looks like it was a couple returning home to Lexington for medical treatment and the brakes gave out as they were trying to stop. Plan had just undergone a full maintainence update, and had less than 30 miles on it since that work. Looks like some of the people from Keeneland acted fast and saved lives. One person died (one of the passengers) but it could have been much worse.
