Got some grass only type plays wouldn't mind posting, they'd either crank the ROI way up or take it down to nothing, but with the rainy rainy think I'll wait till July. So I'll stick to a couple of all-purpose and dirt type spot plays for today.
PHA r6 h3 $12 win.
HAW r8 h4 $12 win.
Record to date (before I forget it, and/or it goes into the red)
$bet--------------$42 (after scratches)
$collected-------$106.20
ROI $2.53 for every $1.00 bet.

George, looks like a fun wager. Noticed that you picked some mid priced horseys in there. Good luck with it.

6 TDN
#9 $8w
this guy may have found a field slow enough for him...+18 ESD...only -10 res rated #4 and can run this far. Lone *E and the jockey has a good record with these types...23%w 1.70 ROI. Dueled in last and could run his race. I just hope he got some sleep last night and wasn't out chasing the fillies around the barn. Wish I could get a better price..and at TDN..maybe so.
slight adjustment...had a couple of other plays open up..
5 FP #8 $8w
3 GLD #10 $8w
total bet 24
to date roi = :(

Carl - nice pick on the 3 in the 6th at pha. To bad it was bet down so far. Curious, what factors were you filtering on that gave you the 3. It was a fr1-1 any others?

Nice nice Hurrikane! We need you at ESB getting bonused 5% and out of the pools too buddy. We'll have your horseys paying $60 at FP then.....Let the Jamaicans pay, they don't mind, they are living off that football green stuff they rake in.
Mike,
E-mail sent with some details of the pick. For public board, simplest version is I liked bad last finish 20 plus lengths out of it, throws the Raggies/final time boys of the scent. As to the $6.00 payoff, I think I got lucky and stepped into "a good thing", I think they ran this one for "the boys on the backstretch". I don't mind, I'll take any payoff, especially when the horse wins for fun.

You may be right Carl, Hit a 22.00 at HAW too. Should have put that one up here.
Nice pop at FP Glen...the frontrunners are loving the slop today.
Thanks Mike....now I have to go figure it out. the ponies are being friendly today.

Geez, you guys are doing so well you should save some money to buy us "poor" show bettors a drink in Vegas. Congrats to all who are whackin em.
Me and Granny have hit 8/9 show bets today but haven't made enough to buy lunch yet.
My posted parley had a late scratch at the gate on first leg. Good thing as he was 20-1 which is not a good sign on a 6-1 MLO. Will run the three legs at MNR and if still alive will finish the parley tomorrow.
MtKen & Mike, it's our turn tomorrow!!

Nice Pickin Mike. Another good thing about YOubet is that it is easy to goof up. Ended up not knowing I bet the YAV horse twice so I get double the winnings...This game is fun!

Had a nice $5.80 start to parlay at MNR and hit next 2 legs so going to stop here.
Said I was a coward.
Hit 13/14 and 3 show parlays for a 2.38 roi today.
Not bad roi for me and granny's show bets.

Fairmount Park (FP) is in southern Illinois, located just north of I-64 going east out of St Louis
at Collinsville( ? )
For all the little known tracks go to the race dates on this web-site and if you want click on the name to learn "ALL" that the press office wants you to know..........
Talked about this on the old board, still can't remember if I've ever been there......my ex-wife is in Illionis ........have made it a number one rule to "NEVER" let the sun set on my backside in that state, but that's another story.
George

Ernie......you are right on location of FP. Used to go there when it was called Cahokia Downs. Actualy a fairly clean and nice little track. Think Hurrikane meant the Yavi?? track. Believe that is the old Prescott Downs in Arizona.
hurrikane
5th June 2001, 08:00.32 AM
your right George...it is still listed on this board as Prescott Downs and thier web page is for Prescott...guess that is why I couldn't find it. Have to see what the pool look like at this place...guessing 5 bucks could cause a big swing!

Yavapai or whatever probably has pools that aren't too much smaller than Turf Paradise. It is the summer home for many of the Phoenix horses & is simulcast throughtout AZ & some of the mountain states. Here in Siberia we get TUP simulcasts until the Belmont, then 'live' MT racing kicks in. Kicks in is the operative phrase here as most fair locations offer mule races in addition to the $1000 claimers that allegedely run here. $5 will move the win pool & $25 gives you chalk. MetraPark in Billings shares stock car racing on the same track. Don't ask me what they do, dump a lot of dirt on the asphalt I guess. I haven't been in a few years, frankly I wish they just offered simulcasting year round. With the tiny pools I don't know how they stay in business & every year is said to be the last.
I didn't have a lot of 'live' ones yesterday so I made a couple of bets on Winticket & got off the 'net...didn't see FP & hadn't noticed it before. I talked to the mgr. of scheduling there the other day & he says things will be much more consistent after they leave Ohio for Oregon. More tracks & all offered everyday.
One Arizona play that TUP handicapper Howard Hong mentioned in Handicapper Mag was to look for horses leaving hi-altitude tracks like Yavapai (Prescott) & return to TUP in the fall & run huge with the thicker air. In retrospect, i've hit horses returning to TUP that looked like horses for courses & after a miserable summer at PRE would run big in their TUP fall debut.
You guys are kicking butt...going to have to resort to the 4 pick best bet approach. I guess we should name it the "Carl" as opposed to "Ernie" tris & "Tomcat" pik-3's :)
George

MtKen.....good to hear Winticket may get more consistent on their scheduling. They have been driving me crazy by offering a track one day and it's gone the next. After I have gone to the trouble of figuring the race, really like to be able to bet it. Can usually bet anything with my version of the Jamacians, guess they would be called Virgins, but they won't take the bet until 30 minutes to post.
Think that rule is related to the fact they take 65 cents out every time I call. With the 30 minute rule, have to call several times a day.
Do you think we will ever see Carl's dream of being able to bet any track in one place?
Preferably on-line!
MtKen
5th June 2001, 11:18.10 AM
George: They drive me nuts, too. Sometimes you can bet the track but you have to go elsewhere to get the odds, so I'm often hopping back & forth from Philly's oddboard to Winticket & back & off to a track's homepage to get the audio or video & back again.
I don't have a huge bankroll so I don't like having to split it up into 3 or 4 accounts. Of course, it's a lot better for me now than it used to be when I was stuck with MT racing & the TUP simulcasts. Maybe if TVG's tracks see their handles spike a little from adding Youbet the great racing powers out there will realize that this selectivity kick they are on only hurts their bottom line. The track that I don't understand is Emerald Downs...where can they be bet?
We need a Handicapper's Commisioner to straighten this out. Let's nominate Hurrikane!
