1st Prize
3 free months on HTR (Oct, Nov, & Dec 2002) + $1 cash for total winning contest points (see rules below). Maximum cash value = $500
Largest possible prize value = $858 Smallest possible prize value = $358 The cash prize assumes the winner will have a final contest total greater than zero.

2nd and 3rd Prize
1 free month on HTR (Oct, Nov, or Dec 2002) ($119 value) or $100 cash.

Ronnie.....over a long string of races it would be hard to exceed a w/p/s average return of 35-40% which would make the total around $120. Based on early returns this group may beat that considerably :)

Methink George is right on with his guess for the winner's probable final total. My educated guess before the start was 150 pts for the winner. That translates to an extra $150 in prize money for our champ. But just in case someone got real hot, I placed a limit of $500 for the cash portion!

Don't forget, everyone that beats "KM" gets to go another round starting Sept 3 for an additional 150 bucks. Pick one a horse a day at DMR, if it hits the board, you survive. Last man standing takes the money.

Terrific competition the first 5 days of the contest with several strong efforts in the top 10. But it appears many people are laying low waiting to see what kind of prices will be necessary to win this thing. There are still 13 days left. That is why we decided on a longer tournament with ample opportunity to come from behind and it make exciting from day to day.

My guess - the best is yet to come from most players and there will be some interesting twists and turns before this one is over. Great job everybody and big kudos to Rick for an outstanding job of managing the contest and the keeping us involved by posting the standings so quickly after MNR completes it card.
