I'm not really sure if this is the best thing for MD racing but any change from what De Francis is doing will help. Since his father died all he has done is run Md racing into the ground. I'm not big on Stronarch but hopefully it will turn into a good thing.

When Frank bought TDN there were alot of talk about improvements to the track and the addition of a turf course. There have been some improvements but they have been slow in comming. They re-did the paddock and are improving the barns. They got rid of the 7 and 7 format and they now run fewer live races ech day but the fields are now larger.
But fans can forget about a deep pockets owner who will come in and change things overnight.
I think the big play is the eventual placement of slots machines at tracks and Magna will be rolling in dough. I hope the Magna can deliver a racing channel on cable that is affordable.

Magna is like a cheap version of Sam Walton w/o the customer service intent. IMO, he is just creating a network of el cheapo tracks w/ low expenses so he can create a small monopoly that he can control.
