The contest seems to have drowned out all other selection plays we used to post... and selected tracks aren't those I play. Just wanted to note that in the 5th at Monmouth today, there is a pattern play I like, and might be a price.
Have a look at #3 Tumacacori (8-1). Not a lot of early speed in here, and he tops out in Impact. Note the middle move he made from an outside post in his last (moves inside today). Trainer has good win and itm per centage (if you haven't already, check out Mazur stats in the selections section, http://www.proghandi.com/mthsheet/.

(p.s. I wanted to add that I recognize the fitness of this horse might be in question. One work 30 days ago, and another layoff... or, could you consider this the 3rd off the Dec layoff? Anyway, by no means "dead cert", but interesting, I thought)

Not to blacken the poor horsey's changes Neil, but I do have him come up three times with different spot plays and plan to take home the other half of the island of Jamaica if he wins today. Hope you and I both liking the horse isn't too much weight for him to carry hehe.

I am a fan of layoff horses, especially with decent trainers.

Best of luck with the play and I for one will be cheering for him also.

And if you liked this one......

Somewhat similiar type going in the RUI r3 h4.

49 days off, good trainer, looks like the quickest out, MLO 6-1.

Neil,

these 400+ trainers with a layoff are a good play returning over 30% on 25% wins. I don't think you need to be concerned about the layoff. Mth was wet yesterday but this horse doesn't seem to mind. Doubt you will get 8-1 though..maybe.

Need to keep an eye on the lone F horse...these guys do surprisingly well.

#3 out, lone F horse out, and m/l fave out.
There was no money on this horse until about 8mtp, then it got to m/l. Still little in place and show pools. w/o video, so have to wait for charts for an explanation.

from chart: Tumacacori - pressed pace, led, weakened
question of fitness, imho

Neil........I caught this horse late fall at MED for a nice $26 payoff. H e seems to have fallen off form lately plus has been raised to higher class races. Would be an excellent horse to keep on "watch list" for a drop in class. They probably will pop him again at MED in the fall.
