All,
The credit for the following memo belongs to HTR, Its software,
members, the forum and lots of help from many people on board.
I hope that this message will encourage some new people to
join and participate and in no way has it been suggested or encouraged
by anyone.
N.Y.R.A. runs a $5,000 Challenge, winner take all with no entry fee. One
has to be very good and very lucky; both of which do not apply to me.
Handicappers must choose one horse each day and that horse must
finish at least third or you are eliminated. A thousand variables can affect
your choice with interference, bad start, poor jockey judgement etc.
Over 5,000 people began the challenge and 253 are still in the running.
Including Friday's card, using HTR software(including Tomcat's program with
Mike Dee's numbers, forum suggestions, monthly newsletters and being
blessed with the correct race selections, my record is 5 wins and two place
horses out of seven possible races and 45th place on the leaderboard.
Anyday including today one of those variables could rear its ugly head and
I could be eliminated. That's not what's important anyway. The fact that I was
able to be successful this far is due to the decision to join HTR and improve
my handicapping approach.
This professional group at HTR can help you develop your handicapping skills
if you become involved and participate. Hurricane said it best in a forum
message. " There are many excellent handicappers on this board". I'll add they
are very willing to share their knowledge and help anyone.
