Seen the Nissan commercial! I think that's Aussie for 'Horse Racing' ! :D

where do you get data?

Seems the Hong Kong thing is catching on..apparently a lot of data and good payouts...in what? Ringets? Yen? Dulongs? ..can't remember what kind of shells they trade their. :D

Heck if I know where you get aussie data. Just curious how or why youbet shows it. Can't even get a PP on it. Not that I would bet on it if I could get Aussie PPs. American racing tuff enough.

HK guys got it down from what is sounds like. Think their method of trade is the Egg Roll. It is kinda like the Euro Dollar for Asians. <g>.

As a kid, I live in Singapore for a while...6 years. Funny to think they have horse racing there. That is a place where it is illegal to have a Playboy and watch Rated R flicks. Heck if you litter it is an automatic $500 fine, drug trafficing=death, and if your are a white boy perfoming graffity on cars you get cained. But binge wagering on 4 legged animals is ok.

Yeah, funny place Glen. Was there a few times in the 90s. Cleanest city in the world at the price of not being allowed to chew gum. But want a special massage...not a problem. Well, not that I would know anything about any of that...just rumors I heard. :D

I was there in '55 for 3 day pass. BTW how old are you Glen? Just kidding!
The world of Suzie Wong is one of my favorite movies.
I don't remember seeing any horse racing then.

Horse racing and gambling of any type is very big in Hong Kong. I believe the first race course was built there in the 1800's before any of the big buildings. I still have some Hong Kong Dollars. BTW Susie Wong's bar is in the Wan Chai district on Hong Kong island, (not that I would know, just info for Kane).

Must have been interesting growing up in Singapore Glen, agreed it is the cleanest city on earth. Pulling into that port is blinding from all the white buildings. The Waltzing Matilda is a bar there where the Singapore Sling was invented, think it is a gay bar now.

For anyone who truly loves turf racing, Australian racing ranks among the best available. A lot more nformation is available than we can get for American racing. The fields are usually packed and one can bet at several locations here in the USA or open an account with an Aussie bookie or TAB [Aussie OTB] I grew up on turf racing, so it's a natural for me. I usually take more interest in Aussie racing around this time of year since I don't care for US winter racing. It's quite popular on the East Coast and one was able to see large crowds bettors at the Meadowlands on a Friday night, for the Saturday afternoon Aussie cards. Haven't been to NJ for some time and after 09-11-01, I'm not certain what the market is like this season.

HK is the only true capitalist economy in the world, and their racing reflects that. Again a lot more information is available to the bettor. In fact, one feature I really like is that injuries, vet reports and medication history is made publicly available by the turf club. Hence, it's difficult for any hanky-panky by connections. Hope we will one day see that level of openess here in the States. The handle is mind boggling and handsome payments are not unusual. Timeform, the venerable British outfit now offers a HK edition of ratings and full history of each horse. It can be purchased online with a CC. Dollar for dollar, Australia & HK represent two of the best betting markets anywhere in the world.

About Singapore, again a thriving economy. Kranji, thier racing venue is trying to break into the najor leagues. One can keep in touch via the internet , but it is still in its infancy as a racing community. But with many Aussies transplanting there, it won't be long before we start seeing Singaporean entrants in the Breeders Cup.
