saturday's contest payouts (9/17)

63 entries were awarded from weekday Satellite contests, contributing $50 each to Saturday's total prize pool.

57 entries were purchased for Saturday's tournament, contributing $50 each to Saturday's total prize pool.

A total of 120 entries are in play, all contributing $50 each to Saturday's total prize pool of $6,000.

50% ($3,000) is carried over to the TwinSpires Online Handicapping Championship on November 19.

$3,000 is paid out to Saturday's top 16 finishers as follows:

1st Place: $750.00 plus free entry to the Monthly Final ($200 buy-in) on 10/1 and free entry to the TSOHC on 11/19 ($1,000 buy-in)
2nd Place: $450.00 plus free entry to the Monthly Final ($200 buy-in) on 10/1
3rd Place: $300.00 plus free entry to the Monthly Final ($200 buy-in) on 10/1
4th Place: $210.00 plus free entry to the Monthly Final ($200 buy-in) on 10/1
5th Place: $150.00 plus free entry to the Monthly Final ($200 buy-in) on 10/1
6-10th Place: $120.00
11-16th Place: $90.00

Only 18 signed on with just over 40 minutes until the first race jumps.

All you have to do is finish 2nd against 18 other entries in today's Championship Satellite, which features three races from the Woodbine Mile card.

I am new to entry fee tournaments and hope you can help clear up some things for me. When I went to the contest site it shows 119 entries instead of 120. I assume this will impact the payouts.

If you are fortunate enough to get in the money how and when are you paid? Does it go directly into your TS account?

Total purchased or earned entries still stands at 120, so the payouts will be the same as quoted.

Cash prizes are typically posted by the Monday following Saturday's tournament. In the event your contest payout is $600 or more, you may be asked to complete a W-9 form before receiving your credit (and only if you have not completed a W-9 for this calendar year).
