He may have hurt his ankle, but he was fat and not
in shape. I was there for thje race. He is a great looking horse and I am sure they want him for breeding.
Some time I wish they would list their weight like they do in dog races.

Tom, did you see him live before?
You could see he wasn't in shape.
Would love to live the track again. :D

A fit racehorse will show a little rib and not a protruding belly. He showed no rib at all.
Later, I saw his re-run of the Derby, he is a very musculatured (such a word?) horse. He reminds me of Mr Prospector.
That is not a criticism of the trainer. Some horses have to race to get in shape.
I can't pick winners by looking at them, but the appearance of a horse can cause you to not pick them. I toss horses by appearance.
