i just bought a Mac Computer-and installed Windows 7-(using Parallels)-enabling me to run HTR software. How would i transfer my HTR database going back to August 2010-from my HP computer to my new Mac Powerbook?

Normally bbopjz, you would take these steps
1) run the installer on the NEW computer and setup the latest versions of HTR software first
2) from the OLD computer: copy the entire contents of HTR folder onto a USB storage drive, thumb drive or back up disk. All files are copied. Do not delete (or cut) anything from the old computer.
3) copy the entire contents from the storage drive to your HTR folder on the new computer
Whether this will work on a MAC setup, I can't predict. Please let us know if you have success and thanks for letting us know that you got HTR to work on your MAC - which is good news indeed :)

I can tell you what Ken spelled out is exactly what I did, and I too and running an iMacbook Pro with Paralles as well. Just be sure to copy the files and not cut when moving them just in case.

It is lots quicker to burn them to DVD than thumb drive.
Thumb drive takes forever.

Copy the files in C:\htr.
Just back up c:\htrdata to DVD.
Open up two copies of Windows Explorer. Size them and place them where you can drag the files you select from one window to the other.
Have one window open to C:\htr. You can do the CTRL+A to select all the files.
Have the other window open to your thumb drive.
After you select the files just drag them to the other window.
I told you it is faster to burn them to DVD. :)
