i think there is a lot of difference in contest where there is more than one track to play . the contest i have been in you had one track to play but in a contest like we had i think if a person stay with one type like older female or older male . claming route they could do better . what do you think

Right idea Ronnie, there is just no way to play them all in a contest. Best advice depends on the type of tournament. If it is a win-only type event, which is typical in Vegas, you need to research longshot proficiency with various class/age/sex/dist/surf categories at each contest track.
You remember last June at the seminar my handout showed strong evidence that older claimers were the most likely to produce a Fr1 longshot. That is a good starting point. Grass and maiden races with large fields are highly volatile, and while they may produce longshots, the predictability may be low with our numbers. Stakes races have low volatility and the winners are easy to predict, but few of them pay over $20. Older claimers on fast dirt, especially routes, fill the need nicely and are carded often enough to make them a specialty for tournament players.
