Maxvel model

I find when I handicap a race and get rid (on my betting sheet) of the ones I think are bums and THEN if Maxvel picks the ones I liked before I ran the model then I can hardly bet enough.

It's the best tool in HTR now as far as I can tell.


So far(?) Oaklawn doesn't stand a chance!

What an endorsement, thanks dd, the Modeler is like Robot-Lite, gets the goods in a hurry

One thing I have noticed about the modeler is how strong KMS TopRank 4 is. The modeler is set up so that KMS never appears beyond TopRank 2 (at least that is how it appears). This is likely because there are often 99s. Even if KMS doesn't appear in the modeler output, I always check the Show Model output. I would love to see the ROBOT Special screen expanded to show KMS 1-4 as this looks to be an extremely potent factor for all tracks, surfaces and distances.

Agreed II D; one of Ken’s crowning achievements. :cool:

It has rewarded some old school manual input by logging modeling data into a spreadsheet. In Gulfstream’s case it’s a very interesting study from Jan 5th on to see the factors / %’s grouped by dist / surf etc. You can see shifts in dynamics when you line them up sequentially that can get lost in group output.

If Ken could ever manage a comma delimited file from this software it would be heaven sent. Especially for the spoiled among us who remember all too well the tedious data input sessions. :eek:

I'll be updating MaxVel again in the Fall. Have some really good ideas thanks to all the great feedback. An export is possible. So is a full card/full day output. Will also work on a factor exclusion checklist to enable the user to remove any of the items and that would permit a KMS Top4 since the user could remove it.

A couple of things I would like to see you consider if you have not already:

A flag to note on the individual race output the much faster/slower than par pac/per. maybe plus 4-5 on pac and 2/3 on per

A listing of the winners 1&2call beaten lengths.

Maybe this would slow down the output or is not feasible but it would really help to eyeball the races displayed.

Anyway, it's great as is.

P.s. on the pac/per screen I would love to see the 1/2call bl of the winners some day. Not a lot of room , but maybe you could stick it way over to the right even off the normal screen view but scrollable.
