DRF announces two changes for the Oaklawn Park meet. First, they're going to use colored saddle cloths. More important for HTR users, 51/2f races will start at the same point as 6f races, and end at the 1/16th pole. So, your 5 1/2f model will probably not be valid for the early part of the meet.

Also, it's raining today near Gulfstream Park, and the last time it rained like this, early speed didn't hold for a couple days.

That is a very interesting development at OP Neil. Awhile back at HOL they had two finish lines to enable the 1-turn mile. But the jockeys kept making mistakes and pulling up at the wrong line so they had to end it. They now run 7.5f instead and just have one finish line for all distances.

Track management at HOL was defensive for awhile, even putting a giant target on the correct finish line for each race. Jockeys didn't respond, often drastically altering the outcome of the race by pulling up early. Let's see how long this lasts at Hot Springs.

Think OP's "special 1M" have always finished at an earlier finish line, so I would imagine the jockeys will not have too big a problem adjusting.

Looks like OP is going with TVG. I guess this means that it won't be on Call-a-bet or on Magna TV network(the one they talk about but haven't ever implemented)
