What about the short term view for adoption here?

Let's hope this catches on in USA Val, thanks for that news. There have been overtures in our Congress on overturning the ban on online gambling, but there are many opposing interests including casino operators, religious and moral crusaders and not surprisingly the horse racing industry which tends to shoot itself in the foot regarding more open gambling.

As was mentioned in a previous threads here, the NTRA strongly supported the Internet Gaming Act (banned monetary transactions for online gambling) for what it thought would be cornering the market with online wagering for horses. Now that bill is coming back to haunt the industry as the credit card companies and banks have stopped allowing online cc cash advances for ADWs, costing the sport millions in potential wagering dollars.

I take the Libertarian approach, allow everyone to gamble freely on whatever they want, it's their money, the gov should not be controlling our spending choices. Prohibitions don't work and cause far greater problems than they prevent.
