MaxVel = Maximum Velocity software designed for hardcore velocity, pace and former Sartin/Brohamer feet-per-second afficianados.

MaxVel will have an upgrade after the Br Cup (Nov 6) and the Nov. newsletter will highlight the changes. I'll take suggestions you might have to improve the program or the Modeler on this thread. Right now the following have already been added or being worked on. A big thanks to those that suggested these additions.

= KMS speed added to screen sort and modeler output

= Odds Range filter on Modeler screen

= Run Style (RS) filter and Quirin points race type filter added to Modeler

= RS and QP aded to V2 screen for sorting

= Added FC and KMS to "Full Stats" (full ranking set)

= "Wizard' function gives you instant modeler advice on the strongest factor(s) to play based on how recent similar races have been run. You will select a race and run the Modeler as usual. When finished it will show the field with point values based on how they match up the strongest factors from the modeler results.! No more extra work with having to print the race and circle the top factors.

After we get this version done, we'll let Donnie play with it awhile and then he can add his "circle" system from the seminar to the next version which we'll use as a new tool in Vegas for 2011 event for him to discuss.

The modeler is a terrific tool for gaining control of a race that perplexes you. It is not uncommon to find a factor that has 90% or more top4 recent races. When that happens, those top4 are your contenders and that's that. The KMS will be a particularly potent weapon for the modeler. But everything will sneak in there from time to time. I really like it when top4 Jockey ranks are 85% or more - that gives me the most confidence for including them in DD, P3, P4 and it rarely misses. For some reason, Jockey rank has been the best forward factor of all the modeler items for me.

I'm sure my experience with the modeler and jockey rank is not the same for everyone else and may be a result of the tracks and types of races i play. I would like to hear your similar experience with MaxVel in that regard.

The thing to keep in mind is that is the top 4 jockeys in this race! Not necessarily the top 4 on the grounds, and that is where you can catch the public missing some good bets!

Sounds fantastic!!!

Ken; I know you test various new factors with the HTR consensus over the years. Have you tried the rKMS in place of the rFC rating yet?

Here is the latest X-ray of Ken’s 'Max-Velocity' brain waves btw… :)

I would luv to see the 1c and 2c lengths added to the Run Model display. It would be great to see the Total Qpts along with the number of horses with 5Qpts displayed for each race on the same display!

Also a display for the 2nd and 3rd place horse either a separate display or a way to toggle the display to include the 2nd and/or 3rd place horse on the same display even if that cuts the display back to 10 races.

Add pscan to the v4 screen.

On the jky, I like to think that's because we are getting some input from the jky agent in that stat.

The better ones get the live horses and that feeds into the next one and so on.

Maybe HDW could get the jky agent as well as marital status included in the file?:D

Also, what's the opinion on Impact pp screen or a toggle of the fps?

On the rkms, doesn't it have too many empties?

True; but it all comes down to test results imo. The rFC (blanks itself 14% of the time) can be the null point filler along with the standard default the consensus uses now.

I know there are space limitations; but the rCLASS (even with its blanks) would be nice. :)

I prefer to select my own pacelines, so I have a navigation request: WHen I go from race to race, MAXVEL always switches me back to PL-5 (from PL-0) This ONLY happens when in PL-0. If I go from any other (PL-1, PL-2, etc) is stays on the same PL (just like PL-5)....Is this a bug for PL-0??? If not, could it be added to this upgrade? Thanks, in advance....Myles R

KM,

As I look at Maxvel V2 and compare with HTR2 Vel, I notice that there is a "Stretch # in HTR2 Vel.

In Maxvel V2, there is a F1/4 but the numbers are different. Could a Stretch # be considered for inclusion as it appears to be different from the F1/4 #?

Thanks

Sly

KM,

Could Age Filter be added/included as an Auto Filter Option?

Thanks

Thank you all for the suggestions. I'm digging into the MaxVel now and will outline all the added items for you in the next newsletter.

If something you suggested doesn't make it into an update, it is usually because it is not programmable or practical, too complex for the interface or not useful for most users, or i tested it and it showed no good results.

Remember that the (Brohamer) Modeler is based on Track/Dist/Surface/and sometimes Class type to find similar races. Use Robot2 for more extensive filtering. Over-filtering will limit the matches you get with the modeler and render it useless with small samples.

Thread closed while work is in progress on MaxVel, but feel free to make suggestions on other HTR software anytime.
