Thanks Ken and Ron.

HDW stuff is back up for members, I downloaded the five tracks for tomorrow already and got my three little spot plays all picked out already.

Life is indeed good......

The zip files cannot be extracted without a password. Why aren't we being given one?

Bernie, just figured out my browser downloaded them as WinZip by default. This time down load as an all file in the save dialog box.

I'm a computer clod. Did press the "all file" and data still did not load into
HTR . Could someone please give me a more detailed explanation of what
do do? Thanks, ....Larry

Doc,
looks to me like it still saves it as a zip file even if you pick 'all'. I just renamed it in windows by clicking on file and them removing the .zip from the name.

does anyone have any idea when HDW will be back to something resembling normal?

Ken, what are you hearing? I see Thursday files are not up. Will they
be up sometime this AM?

HK that's what I get as well, it is saved as xxxxx.htr..zip I have to edit out the ..zip. Any know a easy way to do this. I'm DOS challenged:)

MIke. Looks like...
open a dos window. go to your directory with the files
type

rename *..zip *

enter.

this seems to work. YOu may want to do this in a seperate dir just to be safe.

Do you know anyway to have the parameters of a query show up on your report?

I'm using netscape and all seems fine. No zip issues.

thanks guys I give the dos thing a try and tomorrow I'll give netscape a try. Hope they have it fixed soon.

No and that's something that I would very much like to be able to do. I tried fooling around with the documenter tool, but I can't seem to get it to work.

tried netscape and it works fine no need to re-name. Also less mouse click are necessary to save the files.

I havn't used netscape for along time and I think that it is faster then explorer at lest it appears to be to me

I use IE and just click on each file as "save to disk" and the type as "zip" and save it in HTR folder the same as ever.

Works the same as it ever did for me, except I have to click on each file individually, it takes me maybe three minutes more to send a full day, no big deal.

I use Zip Central, if that makes a difference I donno.

The practice file that I downloaded does not seem to exist anywhere
on the C: drive. Hope I can get this to work before the contest.

Dr,
When you right click...do save target as...then check the dir where it is going. Looks like Netscape solves the problem of the zip..or you can rename. Let me know if it works.

hurrikane,
I finally found the file in the HTR folder as .zip.
How do I now remove the .zip?
When I right-click and go to Properties I found
that "archive" is turned on. Don't know anything
about these things and really appreciate your
help. What now?

Thank's Larry

Dr,
select the file in explorer then click File >> Rename
this will put the name in a little box in explorer. You can then put your cursor in the box and erase the .zip.
Let me know if it works.

If you want to shoot me an email I can mail the files for today already fixed. Unfortunately..you end up with the give a man a fish senario and you're back where you started tommorrow.
Let me know

Try this to get the files downloaded with the *.htr extension.

Open Windows Explorer, click Tools, Folder Options, click File Types, click New, enter htr as a new extension, and click OK.

Worked for me in Win2000.

Something to consider is whether htr will save the files to the HTRDATA directory if they are renamed *.zip

MikeDee

Worked for me in 98 to Rick. but did it in the explorer I use to work on files not the web browser explorer.
