NO morning line - Colonial Downs 5/15

Colonial Downs is running a card of steeplechase races and it looks like one turf race. There is no morning line in HTR or the export.

First time I have seen this. I will just delete the card.

Now that is first NJ. Email sent to Ron, i'm surprised that slipped through. Best to delete that card as we don't know what else might have been left out.

On the other hand, I've always wondered how much better we would do if there was NO ML at all for all races :cool:

That would certainly cut down on what the TVG announcers could say about the odds. :D

Many people who whine about late odds changes do not realize how much of an effect the morning line has on the betting public. They simply assume any horse above the morning line is an overlay.

If they see a horse under the morning line by a lot it has a 360 degree effect. They then assume it is "smart" money.

I really wish they would do an entire day on TVG or HRTV showing just how little of an impact these late odds drops are on the results, but a huge impact on the mind of the betting public.

I recently had a conversation with someone who bets the Meadowlands and he told me they have more late odds drops than anywhere else. He might be right, but the point is he never notices the horses going up in odds and he always uses the morning line as his "anchor".

Make the public think a little bit and it would be better for everyone! I am with you Ken, they can ditch the morning line tomorrow! With HTR most of us would not even miss a beat!
