All,

I was noticing that even after deleting a racefile in the main HTR window, that the "C" and "S" files stay in the HTR folder for that date. It appears they have flowed OK to the HTRDATA folder, so, really no need to keep them. Is there any way in Windows to delete a group of them at once? Or, do you have to delete them a single file at a time? There's probably a way to delete a group of them in DOS, but, I can't remember how to do that either.

Any suggestions?

Thanks,
Cliff

Cliff,
The easiest way I know of is to open Windows Explorer to the directory the files are in. (ie C:\htr)

Click on Tools, Find, File.

In the Named box enter *c.txt and click on Find Now. Delete the files you want.

Do the same thing with *s.txt.

You can also try *c.txt OR *s.txt and do them both at one time.

You might want to uncheck the Include Subfolder box. Then again it might not matter.

Ricks advice is perfect except after all files are in window go up to EDIT and click on SELECT ALL. Then click FILES and DELETE. Wasn't sure Cliff knew how to select all and delete.

Well,

I must have had a brain fart....didn't even think about the "select all" option. Just knew there had to be a better way than "one at a time". Thanks guys.

I deleted 4,195 test chart files from my HTR directory today. You would not believe how much faster my downloads are after that!

I have always on a somewhat periodic basis deleted all the TXT files in The HTR directory using DOS and at the C>HTR prompt typed in del *.txt and this has seemd to work fine for me.

But a question for some of you Windows experts is by using DOS to delete all these files, am i possibly causing some Windows registry problems?
